GPL 5000 Odorizer

The GPL 5000 is an advanced odorizer ideal for natural gas and propane odorization, particularly in high-flow stations at low pressures. The odorizer utilizes proprietary technology and has high rangeability (500+:1), delivering extraordinary accuracy in both high and low flow.

Differential pressure drives the GPL 5000, not gas, thereby saving pipeline gas. Also, the odorizer has odor-free operation and maintenance, and a sealed-loop system means the unit is emission-free, never discharging gas or odorant into the atmosphere.

The industry-leading PLC (Horner Controller) has a large intuitive touchscreen, making controlling and monitoring the system simple. The system interfaces with Modbus (SCADA). Setting up audit trail reports for company programs or regulatory compliance is uncomplicated. Also, a Spanish mode is available upon request (GPL custom programming).

Real-time mobile alerts to smartphones and computers using a wireless modem or Modbus make monitoring the system simple, stopping minor issues from becoming big problems and speeding up restoration time.

Batch Odorant Injection for Pipelines:

1 to 400 PSI (1-27.6 Bar) Standard
No Flow to 512.8 MMSCFD (injection rate of 0.5 lb./MMSCFH)

While the GPL 5000 is ideal for natural gas and propane in high-flow conditions at low pressures, the unit can odorize biogas or biomethane also. It’s appropriate for municipalities, small city gate stations, and large stations if at low pressure.

GPL 5000 Feature GPL 5000 Benefits
A sealed-loop system means no gas or odorant discharges to the atmosphere

  • Zero emissions – Eco-friendly; better for the environment
  • No smell during operation and maintenance
  • Lowers false leak-call complaints
Actuated by DP (not pipeline gas)

  • Saves pipeline gas
Odorant injection relative to gas flow

  • Eliminates under- or over-odorization issues
  • Accurate and reliable odorant injection
High rangeability (high turndown ratio – 500:1)

  • Odorization of a wide range of flows
  • Precise odorant injection relative to gas flow
Two moving parts with minimal fittings and tubing

  • Simple operation
  • low maintenance

Odorant Injection System Upgrades

GPL Odorizers offers full packaged odorization skids with the odorizer, ASME odorant tank, and containment assemblies; in both vertical and horizontal tank configurations.

Through our GPL-authorized service provider, we offer our clients a one-stop acquisition experience, to ensure excellent service while minimizing oversight and scheduling challenges.

The GPL 100 thermal mass flow meter upgrade, assures that the GPL 750 odorizer provides accurate, optimal and repeatable gas odorization.

  • The GPL 750 Odorizer solved one of our most challenging odorization applications. It demonstrated accurate and repeatable odorant injection even in no flow, low flow, and intermittent flow conditions. The GPL 750 has proven to be boringly reliable.
